At Knowles Primary School we encourage every child to become a musician, engage with and enjoy music. We provide a broad and enjoyable experience for children who learn to listen to, appreciate, perform, create, critique and evaluate a variety of pieces of music.

Music is taught across school by our two specialist music teachers, enabling children to access high quality music tuition delivered by experts. Every child has the opportunity to play and become a skilled performer.

Composition, performance and appraisal skills are developed from EYFS to Year 6 and are designed to also ensure that children learn about a range of musical styles and cultures.

Our ambitious Music curriculum meets the expectations of the National Curriculum. Our pupils enjoy access to our two well equipped Music rooms where they can engage in whole class music lessons or take part in extra curricular peripatetic music lessons with our local music cooperative or our rock tutors from Rock Steady.
